Allium

Allium is the onion genus,
with about 1250 species,
Making it one of the largest plant genera in the world.


Allium Bullet-Also known as drumstick or golfball allium.
Smaller of the allium varieties found commonly in purple and rarely in white.
Very long lasting flower with very small blooms on the ball-like flower.
Has an onion like odor. Long lasting.

Meaning: Forsaken, expectation.

Anemone coronaria 'Windflower' - These showy anemones come in iridescent colors of blues, magentas, whites, and pinks. 3 inch flowers bloom on 8 - 12 inch stems. Plant the bulbs 1 to 2 inches deep and 6 - 8 inches apart.

Anthurium

Meaning: Lover.

A heart shaped waxy looking exotic flower.

Available in white, red, pinks, and variegated colors. Before placing anthurium in a vase soak the flower head in room temperature for 15-20 minutes. Avoid placing anthuriums in temperatures below 55 degrees F. Very long lasting tropical flower with a vase life of 2-3 weeks.

Anthurium can also be called "Flamingo Flower" or "Boy Flower".

Baby's Breath is a well-known flower used as a filler in florists' bouquets.
The airy, mound-forming panicles of flowers are available in white, pink, or purple-blushed.

Bird Of Paradise
Bird-of-paradise makes an attractive landscape plant throughout Florida, although it requires cold protection in the northern part of the state.
The plant will tolerate temperatures as low as 24°F for a short time; however, freezing temperatures will damage developing flower buds and flowers. To ensure flower production in north Florida, grow bird-of-paradise in a container that can be moved indoors during freezes.

The showy bloom is actually a combination of blue petals and orange sepals that emerge from a beak-like bract (modified leaf). Blooms appear intermittently most of the year. Healthy, mature plants can produce as many as three dozen flower spikes a year, which will last up to two weeks when cut.
